SUNSHINE ON MY SHOULDERS
John Denver
Words by John Denver; Music by John Denver, Mike Taylor and Dick Kniss
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you the day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
If I had a tale that I could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine for all the while
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high

Why thank you for the blessing!
In the modern rock age, the Kinks made being square cool ! : )
Another fantastic blues video by the Kinks - The Beat Room (very late 1964, maybe New Years Eve) doing "Got Love if You Want It." There's something about it that sooo reminds me of the beatnik era. I really love the passion and intensity of the dancers in the audience, not the paid eye candy one sees go-go dancing on Shindig and other such shows.

agreed, they never followed the"lets sound exactly like chuck berry" route...about 65 Daves songwriting just exploded...village green era, genius, somehow he made playing cricket on the village green into blues! god bless vaudevile and variety and Ray Davies! and you...
